Chocolate Brownie Cookies

Total Time: 1 hr 45 mins
Makes: 3 dozen cookies

Ingredients
1/2 cup granulated sugar (I used 1/4 cup sugar, plus 1/4 cup Splenda)
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup butter or margarine, softened
1/4 cup canola oil
1/4 cup chocolate syrup
2 egg whites
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla
2 & 1/4 cups flour
1/3 cup unsweetened baking cocoa
1 & 1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 cup dark or semisweet chocolate chips
powdered sugar for sprinkling (optional)

Directions
Heat oven to 350 F. Spray cookie sheets with nonstick spray. Beat sugars, Splenda, butter and oil in a large bowl on low speed until combined.
Beat in chocolate syrup, egg whites, egg and vanilla.
Beat in flour, cocoa, baking soda and salt until well blended.
Stir in chocolate chips.
Drop by rounded tablespoonfuls 2 inches apart on baking sheet.
Bake 10 minutes. Let cool 2 minutes and sprinkle with powered sugar.
Place on a cooling rack and cool for 30 minutes.
