Whole Wheat Peanut Butter Brownies

Prep Time: 5 minutes
Bake Time: 15-20 minutes
Serves: 6-8

Ingredients
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup Splenda (or can use another 1/2 cup sugar if you prefer)
1/2 cup whole wheat flour
1/4 cup wheat germ
1/3 cup cocoa
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon baking powder
2 eggs
1/2 cup applesauce (substituted for vegetable oil)
1 tsp vanilla
1/4 chocolate chips
1/4 cup peanut butter, creamy

 Directions
Preheat oven to 350 F.
Whisk together all dry ingredients. Add the rest of the ingredient, except the peanut butter.
Spray a small to medium sized baking dish with nonstick spray and pour mixture in.
Heat peanut butter in microwave for 30 seconds, or until melted. Pour onto brownie mixture and use a butter knife to create a design.
Bake 15-20 minutes. Enjoy!

These brownies came out really good. They have a similar texture to Fiber One Brownies. The substitutions worked well together.
